Grand Plaza Parkroyal

I was looking out for the wedding show at the recent mag and noticed the show details as soon as i get a copy of the herworld brides mag. Quickly email Grand Plaza to ask if they have complimentary tickets but they do not have any. So we paid $18 for the show.

I forget i am supposed to attend a site meeting on the same day. After i receive an email from manager that our team is supposed to help out at another event from afternoon 2pm to night time, I quickly tell manager that i cannot attend. So he asked me for my reasons and i told him about the bridal show, tat i must book on that day in order to clinch those extra perks. Imagine, i waited for 1 year for this wedding show and how can i missed it!!!

Manager is very unwilling to let me off , so he insisted that i must go for the morning meeting but i can skip the other night event. Luckily one forummer, B told me that i can reserve the date with the coordinator first w/o paying any deposit. Onie when others want to book the same date then the coordinator will ask us whether we will want to confirm or not. So i reserve a date with the coordinator 1 day before the show, and he also emailed us the package deals and perks on the show. It is indeed more worth it to sign on the show itself.

Alas the morning meeting started from 10.30am and continue all the way to 4pm! I have planned to leave at 1pm but those residents doesn't seem to want to let us off.. they keep pounding my manager for questions. Sob .. around lunch break at 1.30pm i asked manager if i can leave early at 2pm but he refused to let me go . He insisted i should stay until the last item as the last item is an impt item he need me to follow up. I told him i will try lor.. what to do?

So i asked M to go to the show first and told our coordinator that we will sign on when i reach the show. M didn't want to commit without me at the venue. I left the meeting at around 3pm and reach the hotel at 4pm cos of a traffic jam.. sob .. by the time i reach the show is over and its makan time.. so i still managed to grab a few bites n shark fins soup but very rushed lah..

By then it is lucky draw time liao.. we hurry on confirm our package and paid $3K deposit. The coordinator said he will post us the quotation.

Phew.. so rushing! But i am happy that this matter is settled, at least one load off my mind.

ROM Invitation card

This is just a sample of the card.. with the details deleted away. Just this week, i thought of designing a ecard for official invitation to my friends, and putting the details of the day and maps, so that it be useful for them. Initially wanted to send an ecard from those free cards website but they are not the kind i prefer. So in the end I source for pixs from several websites and use photoshop to add effects to the card. Heee, my brother says why I take so much effort to designing for just an ecard. Recently I have been vexed with some family matters complicated with the coming ROM. Really hope that these problems will be solved soon and the wedding preparation will be smooth sailing and peaceful.

Comments on Bridal Shops

Just to summarise my views on the following bridal shops i visited/seen. These are my personal views :- 1) J&C (Clark Quay) - Basic package: $5K. Not hard selling. Designer is very friendly and professional. Gowns concentrate more on lace. Photography is outsourced to other firms. 2) Flamingo (Tanjong Pagar) - Basic package: $5K. Not hard selling. Designer is not around when we go. The gowns are simple and creative. Photography is outsourced to other firms. 3) U Bridal (Tanjong Pagar) - Basic package: $2K+. Quite Hard selling. It is a new shop set up, so the gowns are very new but not many. Their photos are developed by Kodak, very nice. The Shop asst refused to give negatives even if we offered to pay. Give us the impression that they are not very negotiable. 4) Everbliss (Suntec, Plaza Sing) - Basic package: $2K. Very hard selling. We signed up at their road show. My personal opinion is their gowns are more towards to taiwanese style, heard that they import their gowns from Malay...
